Ingredients

For the Brownie Batter:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional for extra chocolatey brownies)

For the Cookies and Cream Swirl:

  • 8-10 Oreo cookies (or any chocolate sandwich cookies)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • 6-8 Oreo cookies, crushed

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

2. Make the Brownie Batter:

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.

3. Prepare the Cookies and Cream Swirl:

  • In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the granulated sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  • Coarsely chop 8-10 Oreo cookies and fold them into the cream cheese mixture.

4. Assemble the Brownies:

  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Dollop spoonfuls of the cookies and cream mixture on top of the brownie batter.
  • Use a knife or a skewer to swirl the cream cheese mixture into the brownie batter to create a marble effect.

5. Bake the Brownies:

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs. The brownies should be set around the edges but slightly gooey in the center.

6. Add the Topping:

  • While the brownies are still warm, sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies evenly over the top.

7. Cool and Serve:
