Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) chicken broth
- 3/4 cup (75 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup (60 g) baby spinach, chopped
- 1/4 cup (30 g) sun-dried tomatoes, chopped (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir to combine.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese, Dijon mustard, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Stir continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Combine and Simmer:
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce.
- Add the chopped baby spinach and sun-dried tomatoes (if using).
- Let the sauce simmer for about 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the spinach to wilt.
- Serve:
- Transfer the chicken breasts to serving plates.
- Spoon the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce over the chicken.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Tips:
- Serve this creamy garlic Parmesan chicken with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
- For a lower-calorie version, you can substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
- Add mushrooms or asparagus for extra vegetables in the dish.
Enjoy your delicious and creamy garlic Parmesan chicken!
